hello mr. malibu

i have the most RIDICULOUS crush. most days on my way home i see mr. malibu. mr. malibu tries to make the most of his drive home by trying to beat traffic (like me), keeps his windows down and his sunroof open (like me), and is cute. oh mr. malibu.

i'm grammatically incorrect

at work, on a lot of the marketing materials produced before i came into the picture the phrase "contains no water" shows up. for some reason, it seems really wrong to me. maybe it's the placement of the negative. i personally think it should say "does not contain water". my boss, who's first language is not english, thought the same as i did but was told otherwise. nope, it should say "contains no water". hrmm. so i googled it. lo and behold.. "contains no water" is more widely used than "does not contain water" (according to google). heh. i still think it's wrong.

i'm still alive, i think..

i haven't had much to update on lately, hence the lack of posts. *sigh* i wish life were a lot more exciting than it is now. but what can you do when you live with family? i could rent, but that idea really bugs me, not to mention the family repercussions - ones i'm not really prepared to deal with right now. unfortunately buying a condo requires more help from my parents than i anticipated, since i need to start putting money into my rrsps again as well as my other investments. even though mum would rather me have a place of my own, dad's hesitant and now says we'll discuss it after christmas.

for actual good news of what's happening: i'm going to dallas over thanksgiving! i have cousins having a big birthday bash to celebrate their 21st and 18th birthdays. my brother's flying down from ottawa to toronto and then then we're heading out to dallas together (since there are no direct flights to dallas from ottawa). really, the biggest reason i'm going (other than to party) is that dad is using his aeroplan miles for my ticket! he's accumulated a lot of points off his business trips, so i feel it's my duty to help him use up those points :) considering i'm in serious savings mode now.

i miss you bed

i went home this weekend because it's been the first long weekend this summer i had a chance to do absolutely nothing. i drove down with my younger cousin, hemita. we were supposed to get her nose pierced, but the piercing place we went to unfortunately couldn't do it - apparently it's illegal for them to pierce someone under the age of 16! it looks like she'll either have to wait two years, or wait until next summer when she goes to england.

i had a great time doing absolutely nothing! watching movies, going shopping, eating out, sleeping in my bed. did i mention i missed my bed?
