and the job hunt begins
this morning i met with a career consultant at right management consulting. my dad's work hires this company to provide career counselling to employees who have been laid off as part of their severance package. to increase relations with their clients, rmc offered basic services to the soon-to-be graduates of current employees. obviously i jumped at the chance since my resume is kind of stale and in need of some improvments.
it was EXTREMELY helpful. she said my resume was impressive experience wise (for a soon-to-be grad) but needed more depth in the explanation. the type of depth she said was needed was the type i thought you put on cover letters. .. i should email her about that cause i'm not sure what i'd put in a cover letter now.
what was really nice is the amount of help she gave and the amount of help she offered for after the fact. once i redo my resume, she said to send it to her and she'll revise it. also, she offered to give me more interview practice. i totally lucked out. *cross fingers* on my job hunt now.

The fun thing about resume advice is that everyone has a different opinion... my former boss said I should do some things, which a consulting company then said were terrible ideas. At least they all agree that government (and school?) job places are wrong about everything.
