code red!!

wednesdays i have my internship at cheo (children's hospital). anyway, this past wednesday over the speaker system someone announced, "code red in otc, code red. i repeat code red in otc, code red." so i'm sitting there looking around.. no one's panicking.. everyone's just sitting there doing their work. okay. five minutes later, they announce it's over or the code red is cancelled or something. i don't remember the exact terms. i turned to my supervisor..

reena: so.. what was that?
supervisor: hmm? oh the code red? oh, it's just a fire..
reena: uh..
supervisor: did they say it's in the otc? yeah, the otc is like a school so they have to have monthly fire drills. you get used to it after a while and it just becomes background noise. the colours you really need to be concerned about are things like brown, black, orange, green..

she told me to look on the back of my id card which outlines the different colours. so the things i need to worry about are hazardous spills, bomb threats, disaster, and evacuations. you know, the REALLY horrible situations.
