poom poom

i took hemita to masala mehndi masti festival yesterday. she enjoyed it because they had soca and reggae music - hemita lives in scarborough and so became our family west indian (similar to how i'm the family white girl). the soca singer had a song called poom poom (it refers to a part of the female anatomy). oh dear is right.. there was also a demonstration for the laughing yoga club. the lady's motto was "if you have to fake it, fake it 'til you make it!" true in so many ways.

we decided to have dinner downtown, so we took a street car from exhibition place to union station. since we thought the ride would be fairly empty, we sat in separate rows. part way through the ride an old german woman got on the bus, walked straight to the back and sat right beside me. then once arriving to the queen's quay stop, the woman says fairly loudly, "here comes the invasion!" because a whole slew of people filled the street car. she asked me about my bus pass because she had never seen the gta pass before. as hemita and i were walking out the doors to head out on the street, she yells to me, "are you coming?" indicating the elevator to go down. i guess she was hoping to talk with me some more, but fortunately hemita and i were very hungry.
