belated florida

here are just a few tidbits from the trip to florida:

saturday, december 16th, 2006

1:30pm outside of stoney creek
a flock of crows come flying out across the highway. Dad hits one.

2:22pm at duty free store
found a bottle of ultimat chocolate vanilla flavoured vodka for $60. Fail at convincing dad at buying it.

3:45pm at toll booth near the ny & penn border
canadian currency discounted 20%. I don't get it.. Isn't the american currency worth slightly more than canadian?

4:53pm somewhere on south 79
mum gets restless and starts car dancing. Mum NEVER car dances. We pass a gas station called sheetz. Mum pronounces it shits.

9:13pm somewhere on 79 south between the boonies and hick town, usa
all the radio stations we can find all play songs about jesus. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but you know..

10:09pm at a comfort inn close to beckeley (called buckley by my parents)
we don't get any cellphone service whatsoever.. But we do get free wireless internet at the hotel.

5:30am at the comfort inn
a mr. T cartoon is on tv.. Very scooby-doo like.

7:12am at the comfort inn
heren contemplates taking the bible..

8:34am somewhere on 77 south
dad asks heren what a certain sign was advertising. Heren replies, "a strip club."

11:45am somewhere on 77s
mom and dad wearing headphones, trying to get the dvd player to work. Talking very loudly because they can't hear each other.

2:30pm a few miles north of the georgia border
we see a sign for a bible factory outlet. How many different bibles are out there that could require the need for an outlet? obviously i'm in need of some religious schooling..

3:02pm on i95 passing savana
there's a gas station called el cheapo!

3:49pm on the i95
we pass a guy driving and watching a movie at the same time in a construction zone..

5:02pm somwhere in florida on the i95
we've come to the realization that no one has taken a single picture during this road trip down to orlando..

5:03pm still on the i95
we see a sign that says "you're almost home." shit, we've been going the wrong way this entire day..

5:05pm still on the i95
akon's smack that comes on the radio for the 5 billionth time. Except here in florida half the chorus is bleeped out. I guess all the old people down here are very impressionable.

6:24pm on the i4 40 miles from disneyworld
a HUGE billboard that says vasectemy with a website! Vasweb.com

4:53pm at the nike outlet
alan is running around the nike store. Testing out shoes. he's trying to figure out why s cetain shoe is not fitting properly. Dad tells him you're putting your left foot in the right shoe.

6:49pm at chilis
no one was aware it was 2 for 1 night.. We all got 2 drinks for the price of 1. Mum was very giggly by the end of the night..

8:00pm at chilis
i schooled tina in the art of chugging by chugging a margarita.
