joining the property owner club

that's right ladies and gentlemen, i bought a house! actually, my brother and i have bought a house. for the two weeks previous, my parents and my brother have been down for some serious house hunting. last sunday we put in an offer on a house and after much negotiating, we got it! i really didn't want to say anything until the building inspection went through today because whenever i announce something prematurely.. it NEVER happens *sigh*

the negotiations were insane since dad's a master negotiator. it came to the point that neither side wanted to budge on the price, so our realtor said he'd pitch in money because he believed this house was for us. that's right, our realtor PAID us to buy the house, heh. basically he's banking on future business from us, which he will certainly get.

now it's time to go appliance and furniture shopping. basic furniture at least. a bedroom set for me, sofa set, and a coffee table. we're having a kitchen table, a retro (aka old) entertainment unit, and a tv donated to the house :)
